You are a pedagogical professional, enjoy working with children and can identify with our bilingual concept.

The responsibilities include, in particular:
• Caring for small groups of children with activities suited to their age
• Fostering individual development through specifically targeted and appropriate activities
• Sensitizing the small children to other languages and cultures
• Actively fostering language development
• Performing basic childcare tasks
• Accompanying children on excursions in the immediate vicinity
• Maintaining good relations with the parents on a basis of mutual trust
• Implementing the development plans and concepts agreed during the meetings of the pedagogical team

You have completed comprehensive training as a state-approved teacher, special education teacher, qualified special education teacher, qualified teacher, social worker or childcare worker. You are familiar with the responsibilities involved in operating a pre-school, a kindergarten, or a day nursery. You are flexible, punctual and reliable.
We are looking for open-minded, highly motivated employees who are creative, get along well with children and have the ability to promote child development.
You speak fluent English, German, French or Spanish – it is not necessary to be bilingual. You know how to communicate with children and to encourage their speech and expression.

Le Jardin gGmbH is currently planning to open more facilities, so we are recruiting employees for several new positions.

Le Jardin gGmbH is a multilingual childcare institution established in 2003 and comprising 7 nursery schools, 3 kindergartens for children aged from 3 to 6 years and one after-school care club. We focus on three principal elements:

  •  Multilingual capability: At Le Jardin, the children are genuinely immersed in languages (Immersion principle). Our groups are bilingual: German/French, German/English and German/Spanish. Our teachers always speak only their own native language.
  • Open-minded attitude toward the world outside: Speaking more than one language communicates tolerance and an open-minded attitude toward other opinions and the world outside. Le Jardin encourages the involvement of different generations and of integrative children.
  •  Conscientious living in and with nature: Each of our facilities has its own garden. Excursions to nearby parks and woodlands are organized on a regular basis.

Housekeeping responsibilities include:

  • Daily implementation of the framework hygiene plan according to § 36 German Protection against Infection Act for children’s institutions
  • Cleaning of all rooms of the relevant facility, including main and ancillary rooms and stairwells (floor cleaning, dusting, window cleaning, sanitary facilities, etc.)
  • Proper cleaning and disinfection of all areas listed in the task list in accordance with procedures (door handles, emptying/cleaning of trash bins, diaper-changing pads, desks, etc.)
  • Kitchen
    • Cleaning of dishes (breakfast, lunch and snack)
    • Distribution of lunch
  • Supply room and supply room management
    • Hygiene articles: filling out orders, and upon reception of goods: verification of delivery note and storage of goods in supply room
    • Verification of beverage delivery
    • Verification of all kinds of deliveries and storage of goods received
  • Laundry (kitchen, groups) – washing, drying, sorting, folding, storage
  • Careful handling of cleaning materials

  • Reliability and autonomous approach to work
  • Ability to communicate
  • At least basic knowledge of German
  • Congenial behavior and ability to work as part of a team
